Uncle Julio`s in Brentwood

Food and drinks were great, service not so much. Probably because I'm from Dallas and am used to elevated service experiences yet even so the waitress missed out on a great tip and got only 20% where she could've recieved a 40% tip IF she wrote down our order instead of trying to remember for a table of four then would come back to confirm what she tried to remember. Not a good idea! The ticket would've have at least been $80 more in liquor alone if she would've checked on us more frequently. I even witnessed her bussing her own table which I'm mesmerized at. Also, the dining room was quite empty for a Saturday, yet we weren't checked on as frequently as one would think. Definitely lots of opportunity for the service here to make more $ with alot more diligence and competent service decisions. Best of luck with the training at this location..!

The food was wonderful. It was the first time I really enjoyed guacamole! The service was excellent. I will definitely go back!

I had a wonderful experience both with my reservation process and with the actual meal. I planned to meet with a coworker to catch up on some things. A few hours before my reservation, I found that one other would be joining us, and I called to get the reservation changed from 2 to 3. That was handled quickly with no issue at all. Then, when we arrived, we were seated immediately and received amazing service and wonderful food. Natalia was great and made sure that we had everything we needed.

My first time going and I have to say I'm impressed. The staff was amazing and watching them make the guacamole was awesome. We ordered from the brunch menu and I have to say I was not disappointed. My steak was cooked perfectly, my wife's breakfast tacos where great, the onlythingbi would suggest is add cilantro to the eggs and top it off with salsa, then you have a hit. But we will be coming back.

Great food and good wine list. Efficient service. The girls at the front door, the wait staff, and the food runners all had their hands on their masks continuously. We watched a food runner touch his mask 40 times in a two minute period of time.

Wow! Get the guacamole. They make it fresh at your table! The fajitas were amazing. I would highly recommend this place if you are craving Mexican food.

So overpriced for the terrible service and cold food. The food would actually be good if it came out hot, but it never does. Was here today for lunch with a friend, our waitress was horrible. Took our order and then disappeared for easily half an hour, despite us needing refills and new chips as the chips we had received were burned. Brought our food, then disappeared again for the remainder of our meal. When it came time to pay, I was basically pressured into tipping 20% as they use an electronic mobile paying thing. Of course, after paying our waitress had plenty to talk about, including her son’s bathroom accidents, as we were trying to finish our meal and leave. Very odd experience. I won’t be returning here.

Great Mexican! Probably the fanciest Mexican I've ever had, highly suggest this place. Great salsa and chips, and our fajitas were delicious. They also have something called a Chocolate Piñata. They bring it to the table and you literally hit it with a small wooden bat and break it open. Pretty fun for a birthday or other celebration!

Nice atmosphere. The guac wasn't mixed good and had no flavor. Very lumpy. I ordered the Lobster y Fajita. Main lobster tail looked and taste excellent. Very good flavor on the ribeye steak in the fajita and it was very tender. I would definitely order again. Overall I had a good experience.

Had an incredible time great food, and even better service. I beleave my server was named kaz he did amazing, so thoughtful, so witty and attentive. Not to mention easy on the eyes. Highly recommend you visit :)

The atmosphere is nice, and the staff seems pleasant. What that said, the food prices are extremely overpriced. My wife and I tried this place for a late lunch, we was trying to eat something light not to ruin our appetites for dinner. She ordered a veggie taco salad and I nachos with chicken. My wife's taco salad was plentiful for a lunch, mine on the other hand was overpriced ($12) for what I received. 6 tortilla chips with a piece of chicken on top, some cheese/chilli, and 3 jalapenos. Don't get me wrong, it looked appeasing, but to say I was still hungry after my $12 lunch is an understatement!

Great food. Love their steak fajitas and the fact you can actually order them medium and they turn out perfect. Also their table side guac is amazing.

We came here at the suggestion of the manager, Lenny and arrived 30 minutes from closing. We were seated at the bar by Cam and Tanner and were impressed with the margaritas, chips and salsa. They were more than accommodating and asked if we would like something to eat even though we were close to closing time. Thanks!

This was supposed to be a birthday dinner fir my sons. After driving 1.5 hrs, while sitting at our table we received a text tell8ny us the Pinatas were not available. This was the main reason we went. Service was terrible, food was less than i would eve5 have expected in presentation and quality. I could only taste my tea. Horriblely bland. Such a disappointment. I just want to cry. Even the back up sophapia was ridiculous. How does it take 20 minutes to make?

Had an amazing birthday lunch here. Our waitress Brittany was phenomenal. I am planning on going back and will make reservations and request her. The food was amazing. I had pick three on lunch menu cheese enchilada, beef, chicken. Then dessert was vanilla ice cream rolled in coconut and nuts with caramel sauce and topped with khalua whip cream.

I liked it, new things such as barcode menu, great dinning room and service was great.

Do yourself a favor and get honey chipotle quesadillas!! Not on the menu, have to ask for them but they're addicting.

My husband and I got take-out after a friend recommended this place to us. We ordered a few containers of guacamole. It was brown. The tortillas were thick like pita bread. The rice was dry and flavorless. However— the steak for the fajitas was excellent. Great flavor and perfectly cooked. I would say, if you want to try this place, avoid take-out, go ahead and dine in so you can enjoy the ambiance and your food is served hot, and order the steak fajitas (if you eat meat). If you’re thinking of ordering guacamole, I would ask the server how fresh it is— and skip it unless it was just made.

I’m impressed with their Tex-Mex food and amazing customer services. Place to hangout with friends. Love their special desert dish ever!

I just don't see what all the hubbub is about. Mediocre Tex-Mex.

The ambiance is cool but everything else left something to be desired. Food is way overpriced, the mojito tasted exactly like a margarita, both were terrible. The manager said something about the lime mix being wrong. The fish tacos didn't taste fresh at all and were really dry.The servers were all very nice and helpful and the homemade corn tortillas were actually good. I definitely won't go back.

I have an affinity for Mexican food, so it’s really hard to disappoint. For all the hype, this place was subpar. The salsa wasn’t good, and the queso tasted like it was store-bought with tomatoes and veggies cut on top. We didn’t even finish our meal—paid for the queso and club sodas (yep) and left to go eat somewhere else. 👎🏻

Great customer service. I miss placed my 🕶, and they were looking everywhere for them! They literally went threw the trash looking! Turns out I left them in the car, smh I suggest getting the queso, and ask for Nick!

I've come here a few times, and have always had excellent customer service but not today. My family, and I decided to come to celebrate my mother's birthday. One of my family members decided to order steak and it was supposed to come out well done. First mistake was the server did not ask us how we wanted it cooked, and we had said well done. The food came out and it was not well done. I then spoke to a manager, and told her and all she said was I apologize. The food came out a second time, and it was still not well done. This time the plate was completely different there was different food added, and the toast was more crispy. They didn't even bother to look at the steak the first time because they just threw it away, and gave me someone else's. At this point everyone in my party was upset, and we decided to leave. Never again will I come back to this establishment. Or recommend it like I used to.

Is there less than one star available? Uncle Juilo's deserves less than one and their good for nothing manager deaerves the loweat rating. I reserved a patio yesterday for a birthday and my request was not honored by the rude front of house manager. She literally walked away when we had more questions. What a rude employee. We won't be back.

Everything was excellent! Pricey but good food and service.

Finally was able to get in this place. Reservations are highly recommended otherwise you wait...and wait...and wait some more.Best tableside guacamole EVER! Drinks were great. Food and salsa was decent compared to other Tex-Mex places I've tried. Would try again.

I went to celebrate my 53rd birthday, and I couldn’t have had a better experience. The food was awesome, the service was wonderful, and there are no words to describe the chocolate piñata! Uncle Julio’s was a great way to celebrate another year of life!

By far the best food in middle TN. Nevermind if its "good mexican" or not. Its not trying to be some place straight out of tradition. Awesome atmosphere and service. Place was super busy when we went in and I never had to wait to ask for something. Best salsa ive ever had at a restaurant. Highly recommend the fish tacos, fresh toppings and tortillas!

Biggest and best Carne Asada I've ever had...the margaritas were great as well.

All hat and no cattle, one might say.If salt and black pepper are as exotic as you get, this is the place to eat.The staff were so attentive and good to us, no doubt.I’m sure all will agree that the food is freshly prepared, albeit lacking in identity.Perfect for Brentwood!

I am from TX and this the best Tex-Mex food in the area. Rustic guacamole, excellent thin and crispy chips, salsa mild but tasty, sopapillas are delicious and plentiful, ground beef tacos and enchiladas are wonderful, queso is made with real cheese not velveeta, chicken enchiladas were good too, service was attentive and friendly. Decor is great, somewhere between old Mexico and modern cantina. Rice is flavorful and dry as it should be, beans al la charra were the best I've ever had. Don't miss Uncle Julio's if you like Tex-Mex!

REALLY kind managers/management, good food, and the chocolate piñata was so good and such a fun experience. The servers could have been more attentive, but they were really busy the night we came so it is what it is. But over all good experience!

They had curbside pickup that they sent out ads for cinco demayo. You could schedule pickup time. I ordered 2.5 hours in advance, arrived at the scheduled time to cars backed out onto the main road, and waited for 1 hour and 45 minutes with a CROWD of 75 people outside. I was lied to upon arrival and told they were running a half hour behind. Clearly they took WAY more orders than they could handle, and by doing so caused a large crowd to have to gather. It was a circus. This was a huge management failure. I can cut them slack in these times but this is beyond reasonable.

Blown away by the food and the service. Savannah is the absolute best server around. Extremely attentive and she knew what I wanted before I even asked. Super cool and provided the best experience I could've asked for. Plus she's gorgeous.

I had really high expectations going in but it took forever to get help and when we finally received our food it didn't have much taste and wasnt properly cooked. Maybe I came on a bad night but for a first Impression this was not a good one.

Great atmosphere, amazing food. Get there early or be prepared to wait. Our server was friendly and helpful. The dessert piñata is absolutely delicious. I'd go back just for that.

They do not have an efficient line system outside. People. We are in a pandemic. Every time I pass this location, it is packed. I sincerely hope they are taking proper COVID-19 precaution. If this continues, this will be reported.

I placed an order for take out. There was a 25 min prep time. I arrived at the location designated for curb-side pick up about 5 minutes early and waited for about 10 minute before approaching the hostess. I was rather surprised that no one approached the car to greet me or ask about my order, as it says on the website. I was somewhat disappointed in the meal, Fajitas for One. It was not hot and looked like it had been prepared for a while. The rice was dry and hard. The beans were soupy and had a canned flavor. The meat was cut into 1/2" slices, a little large for fajitas. The grilled peppers were stringy and tough. The onions were very large pieces and undercooked. No napkins were included. No utensils were included. The menu online stated guacamole was included with this meal. Guacamole was not included in the bag. I have not dined in with this restaurant and likely won't after a lackluster takeout order.
